Anyone who claims to be a ‘Star Wars’ fan has likely been a part of multiple lightsaber battles in their life. That includes Noel Gallagher, who for years has claimed to be the one who trained Ewan McGregor in the Jedi fighting technique. Now, McGregor has confirmed he and Gallagher did indeed have a lightsaber battle, as now every ‘Star Wars’ fan is jealous of the former Oasis member.
Ewan McGregor appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ this week to promote his upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series. During the interview, Kimmel asked about the claims Noel Gallagher made about giving the actor lightsaber lessons. While most assumed this was an eccentric claim by the Oasis founder, McGregor confirmed the two did battle it out after Noel’s 30th birthday party, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I was at his party and then there was a lightsaber fight in his garden very early the next day in the morning. But I don’t remember too much instruction. I don’t remember any lessons being given by Noel. It was just more of a battle in the garden,” said McGregor. While McGregor didn’t say who won the fight, it would be safe to assume the Jedi ended up victorious.
