It has been four months since Eddie Van Halen passed away, yet the tributes are still pouring in. The latest one to go viral comes from a Star Wars fan, who decided to use the beloved franchise to honor the guitar legend. In the now viral video, the fan uses stop motion animation to make a ‘Star Wars’ Jawa play ‘Eruption.’

As seen in the viral clip, the animated ‘Star Wars’ character plays Eddie Van Halen’s iconic guitar solo on a replica of his guitar. “This was an extremely FUN way to pay respects to a musical Legend and to also challenge myself to recreate Eddie’s amazing solo, frame by frame via stop motion animation. Is it perfect? Of course not, that’s impossible, and nothing ever is,” said animator Thomas J Yagodinski.

Before playing ‘Eruption,’ the Jawa character explains that Eddie Van Halen was an intergalactic legend. Of the many tributes to the late guitarist, many have picked this ‘Star Wars’ themed tribute as their favorite. Even something out of this world can’t play quite like Eddie Van Halen did.
