Opening Day for the 2022 State Fair of Texas is finally here, and many throughout the metroplex are gearing up for their first trip of the season. While there are plenty of new foods that will need to be sampled this year, plenty will make sure their first bite is a Fletcher’s corndog. Luckily for Fletcher’s fans, the state fair staple will be giving away free corndogs this year.
Fletcher’s Corny Dogs has seven different stands throughout Fair Park for the state fair, and this year the early birds will be getting a special treat. The popular concession stand announced recently they will be giving away free corn dogs every Friday to the first 80 customers in line at all seven locations. Along with the Friday giveaway, Fletcher’s will also be giving away free corn dogs to anyone who finds the “Golden Stick,” a corndog with “80 years” printed on the stick.
“If you find that stick in your corny dog, come to Fletcher's and you get a free bag of goodies and free corny dogs and some fun things,” said Amber Fletcher, co-owner of Fletcher's Original State Fair Corny Dogs. According to NBC DFW, the free corndog giveaways are to celebrate Fletcher’s Corny Dogs 80th anniversary. Hopefully the free corndogs taste just as good.
