Even though it's always said that flying is the safest form of transportation, the act of sitting on a plane thousands of feet in the air still causes trepidation with a lot of travelers.

Especially when something seemingly goes wrong, and zero explanation is provided.

Passengers on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Seoul, South Korea were five hours into their journey when the plane inexplicably turned around and headed back to DFW.  The crew has offered no explanation as to why.

Jimin Lee captioned a now viral Instagram video of her experience, "American Airlines needs a lesson in effective communication."

In the video, a flight attendant can be heard over the loudspeaker saying, "Just relax and enjoy the rest of our flight."

Yeah, pretty hard to do that when something is so wrong with this plane you had to immediately turn around after five hours.

In a note to the NY Post, Lee revealed that the only explanation crew members provided was the pilot saying "the right side of bathrooms were not working."

When contacted, American Airlines provided a statement that read, "On September 7, American Airlines flight 281 with service from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) to Seoul (ICN) returned to DFW due to a maintenance issue. The flight landed safely and without incident at DFW, and the aircraft was taken out of service to be inspected by our maintenance team. We never want to disrupt our customers' travel plans, and we apologize for the inconvenience."
