Alligator season may be over, but that doesn’t mean people can let their guard down quite yet. While most of the country doesn’t have to worry about coming across an alligator, those that live near swamps are constantly on the lookout for the terrifying reptile. One man in Florida learned that the hard way after spotting an alligator hiding underneath his car.
Photos of an alligator hiding under the man’s vehicle were recently shared by the Collier County Sheriff's Office. According to their now viral post, officers in the area saw the alligator walking towards the parking lot, eventually spotting it hiding under a man’s car. Luckily for the owner of the car, the police got their before he did, as he happened to be walking out to his vehicle to grab something unaware of what was underneath.
“The gator hid under a resident’s vehicle just before he came outside to retrieve something from his car. The State Alligator Trapper responded and was able to collect the gator and relocate it to a more suitable environment,” said the Collier County Sheriff's Office. According to Fox News, the alligator was found around 3 A.M. Maybe next time the alligator will find somewhere safer to play hide and seek.
