DFW is home to some of the richest people in the world, but many often wonder which of North Texas’ known billionaires is at the top of the list. Luckily, Forbes has once again revealed that answer thanks to their annual billionaires list. The 2023 version of the billionaires list was recently released, and this year it included 19 names from DFW.
When discussing the richest people in North Texas, the usual suspects are often brought up; Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Walmart heir Alice Walton, the Hunt family and the Perot family. While all of them wish they could take the title of richest in DFW, only can wear the crown. This year, that title once again went to Fort Worth’s Alice Walton, with a net worth of $56.7 billion.
For the other side of town, the richest person in Dallas was Jerry Jones at $13.3 billion, according to Dallas Culture Map. Some other names on the list from North Texas include banking and real estate kingpin Andy Beal, money manager Ken Fisher, private equity magnate David Bonderman, hotel and investment titan Robert Rowling and oil and real estate titan Ray Lee Hunt. Hopefully next year some more DFW entrepreneurs will make the cut.
