Over the last few years, a new sport with a strange name has been popping up at parks across the country. However, while many have become obsessed with Pickleball in recent years, there is a new up and coming sport with a strange name that seems ready to take over. The city of Fort Worth recently announced they have invested in a new sport called Teqball, adding Teqball tables to public parks in the area.

Teqball is a new sport that combines soccer and ping pong. Invented in 2014, the game has quickly become one of the fastest growing sports, with plans to potentially be included in the 2028 Olympics. Now, Fort Worth is hoping to help grow the sport, adding Teqball tables at Trinity Park and Marine Park. “We think Fort Worth very well could become the Teqball capital of the United States,” said Fort Worth Chief of Strategy and Innovation Carlo Capua.

According to WFAA, Teqball is already becoming popular in Fort Worth, where there is a substantial soccer population. With this new sport, soccer fans will be able to play a similar game without the need for an entire field or goals. Soon, Teqball will be more than just a new sport with a strange name.
