March has been a busy month for zoos and wildlife centers throughout DFW. Already this month, the Dallas Zoo and Fort Worth Zoo have announced multiple new animals born. Now, Fossil Rum in Glenrose has made an announcement of their own, as two new baby giraffes recently joined their park.
At the beginning of March, a baby giraffe was born at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, and just a few weeks later a second giraffe gave birth. Both new baby giraffes are girls, with one named Waffle and the other yet to be named. According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, both baby giraffes can now be seen on public self-guided tours.
“She’s doing well and enjoying hanging out with Waffles,” the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center said of the second giraffe born last week. Now, DFW will get to watch these baby giraffes grow up together. Hopefully they don’t get in too many fights during their rebellious teenage years.
