Many long for the days when the biggest issue they had in their lives was finding a place to party over the weekend. For high school students, this is a constant issue, as the moment someone’s parents leave town for a weekend, it’s a guarantee their home will be taken over by kids. However, as ‘Dazed and Confused’ taught us back in 1993, when the house party gets shut down, there’s always the moon tower to keep the party going.
Richard Linklater’s 1993 film ‘Dazed and Confused’ has not only become one of the greatest coming of age films in history, it is also a guide to partying; teaching many the way to celebrate the start end of school and the start of summer. In the film, when a planned house party gets shut down by parents, the group decides to throw a party at the moon tower instead, bringing together all the schools cliques for a night of drinking.
Not only does the film fill viewers with plenty of nostalgia for their former high school drinking days, it also introduced the world to Matthew McConaughey and the iconic line, “alight, alright, alright.” For that alone; it gets into the party hall of fame. Here’s to one of the great moments in party history!
Memorial Day Party Train Weekend starts this Friday at 8AM
