HBO is current developing a 'True Blood' reboot

The series will be produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who developed 'Riverdale'

Reboots have seemingly taken over Hollywood, as studios continue to bring back classic television shows and movies. Now, it appears HBO has jumped on the bandwagon, as they are in the early development stages of a 'True Blood' reboot. Not much is known about the new series at this time, but original series creator and showrunner Alan Ball will return as executive producer.

The new 'True Blood' reboot will be produced and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is best known for developing 'Riverdale. He will be joined by fellow writer Jami O'Brien, who created and served as executive producer and showrunner on the AMC series 'NOS4A2.' While it is unknown if any of the original cast will be a part of this new series, fans are ready for the nostalgia.

The original 'True Blood' series ran on HBO from 2008 to 2014. It starred Anna Paquin alongside Alexander Skarsgård, Joe Manganiello, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, and Rutina Wesley. With many other reboots already being made, 'True Blood' fans are ready for their turn.
