True Crime is more popular than ever before. Whether it’s a television series, movie or documentary fans of the genre can’t seem to get enough. Luckily for fans in DFW, a new series coming to HBO Max will tell the story of a 1980 murder that happened right here in North Texas.

HBO recently released the first trailer for ‘Love & Death,’ a true crime series based on the story of Candy Montgomery, who was accused of murdering Betty Gore in 1980. ‘Love & Death’ will star Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons. The series is set to premiere April 27, according to Fox 4 News.

Back in 1980, Montgomery was accused of killing Gore, the wife of her lover, though she was found not guilty. The story was previously told in a Hulu series back in 2022 as well. For true crime fans, now they can watch something from their own backyard.
