For years HEB has been buying up land in DFW, but now that the grocery store chain has finally expanded to North Texas, some of these plots are actually starting to be turned into new HEB locations. Now, the Texas-based grocer has purchased even more land in Fort Worth, and many are hoping it will be turned into the next metroplex HEB. The site is located at The Shops at Chisholm Trail Ranch development in far south Fort Worth though plans for the location are yet to be announced.
Earlier this month, deeds were filed in Tarrant County for the purchase of 15 acres of land by HEB. The land is on the northern side of McPherson Boulevard, between the Chisholm Trail Parkway and Summer Creek Drive.
According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, the area is mostly empty, other than a Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers location that recently opened.
“We recently purchased the property in anticipation of our future needs,” said H-E-B spokesperson Mabrie Jackson. No other information has been shared by HEB at this time, though the deed lays out details about types of out-parcel restaurants, easements and signage. Hopefully soon there will be word on if DFW is in fact getting another HEB.
