Home flipping has become a popular trend in the real estate industry over the last few years, especially here in Texas. In the first quarter of 2022 a record 2,675 DFW single-family homes and condos have been flipped already by investors, with plenty more expected for the rest of the year. Now, HGTV has decided to get in on the action with a new competition series that will have two couples race to see who can make $1 million first by flipping homes in DFW.
On August 1, HGTV will premiere their latest series, ‘Flip To a Million.’ The show will follow two couples, Jason and EJ Williams of Chicago and Jon and Dani Wrobel of New York, as they move to Texas and attempt to turn $1,000 into $1 million by flipping homes. According to Dallas Morning News, the show hopes to prove that “in the world of real estate, it’s possible to start out with almost nothing and turn it into a fortune.”

Each couple will have six months to try and reach $1 million by flipping homes. To fund their projects the Williamses will take on a main bathroom renovation project, while the Wrobels will get a finder’s fee on a house sale. Soon DFW may have the next Chip and Joanna.
