Any time two superstars end up marrying each other they are deemed a “power couple.” While usually these influential duos come from the world of entertainment or business, now there’s one in the world of education, and they’re from right here in DFW. It was recently announced that teaching duo Angel and Christine Hernandez both won the Dallas ISD Teachers of the Year award.

Angel Hernandez, a fifth grade teacher at DISD’s Solar Prep for Boys, and his wife, Christine Hernandez, a fifth grade math teacher at Solar Prep for Girls, were recently named Dallas ISD’s Campus Teachers of the year. According to NBC DFW, the couple first met when Teach For America sent them both to work in Dallas and have quickly become two of the best educators in DFW. In fact, this is not the first time they won the award in the same year, as they previously did so when they were dating as well.

"Yeah, we were both laughing about it, but we both agree it's an incredible honor," said Christine Hernandez. Now the power couple will have to figure out how to top this accomplishment. Maybe one day, they will have kids that win the award as well.
