The Olympic opening ceremonies may be taking place on Friday, but some competitions are already underway, and already the 2022 winter games have their first viral moment. German ice skaters Katharina Mueller and Tim Dieck performed a routine that was disregarded by judges but loved by the internet. The team’s entry into the Rhythm Dance division of Ice Dancing was inspired by The Joker and Harley Quinn and set to Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic.’

As seen in the clip that recently went viral, Mueller and Dieck perform while in attires inspired by the iconic Batman villains. Dieck’s attire paid homage to The Joker's look in 2016's ‘Suicide Squad,’ while Mueller recreated Harley Quinn’s wardrobe from 2020's ‘Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).’ The internet quickly became fans of the skaters, but the judges didn’t feel the same way, scoring their routine with a 63.21, according to comicbook.com.

Regardless of their score, the internet is now asking for more, hoping to see another routine from the skating team. Of course, not everyone was onboard with some saying it was a disgrace to the sport. Either way, clearly these are the first stars of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
