Working at a restaurant may not be the most exciting job in the world, but at least most employees end up with some pretty interesting customer interactions stories. For one IHOP employee that meant getting the chance to meet Adam Sandler, though she didn’t realize it until after she turned him away from the restaurant. The IHOP employee recently shared video of her telling Adam Sandler there was a 30 minute wait, and many online feel her pain.
As seen in the now viral clip, IHOP employee Dayanna Rodas shared the restaurants security footage of her turning away Adam Sandler. “Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait,” Rodas captioned the video.
After telling the actor about the wait, Sandler turns around and leaves, not allowing Rodas to share her fandom with him.
According to Huff Post, many online were happy Sandler didn’t get any special treatment due to his celebrity. However, many felt the employee’s pain, describing their own awkward celebrity encounters. Hopefully next time she’ll realize who she makes wait for a table.
