Every parent attempts to teach their children about the music they grew up with, and while some learn to love the classics, others can’t help but see it as “old people music.” Of course, some of the greatest musicians of all-time are no longer with us, so it is a parent’s duty to make sure their children at least know the music existed. That’s why actor Jerry O’Connell recently took to social media to show the hilarious way he was attempting to teach his daughters about Prince.
On Friday, Jerry O’Connell shared a video of himself driving a car, with his daughters sitting in the passenger seats. As seen in the now viral clip, Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’ is blasting in the car, while O’Connell sings along. Sadly, all three girls seem disinterested in the classic song, instead more focused on whatever is on their phone screens.
“Education is important,” O’Connell captioned the now viral video. The actor attempts to get the girls to sing along with him, explaining this is “real music.” Sadly, the younger generation may just never understand.
