When a band reaches icon status they tend to start taking things easy, avoiding the studio and playing the hits fans know and love. Apparently that’s not the case for Journey, who this week announced not only a new song on the way, but a music video as well. A clip of the song and video were shared recently ahead of its official release, getting fans excited for what’s the come.
Journey is set to release their newest single, ‘The Way We Used to Be.’ On Thursday, but first they wanted to let fans know what they were in for. As seen in the clip guitarist Neal Schon tweeted out this week, the new video features animated versions of each band member, rocking out to the new song. “It’s bombastic. It’s rocking. It’s majestic, and it’s soulful," Schon said of the band’s upcoming LP.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, this will be the first time Journey has released new music since 2011. With an updated lineup, the band wanted to release something new for fans to enjoy. Based on the reaction to the preview, fans are ready for more Journey.
