‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2022 as multiple delays forced fans to wait much longer than expected. The long awaited sequel to the original 1986 film is expected to finally debut next month, but fans still have plenty unanswered questions. Luckily, one of those questions was finally answered recently as Kenny Loggins has confirmed his song ‘Danger Zone’ will be in the film.

The original ‘Top Gun’ is one of the most iconic movies from the 80s, but even with plenty of memorable moments, its soundtrack is what made the film beloved by many. When it was first announced that a ‘Top Gun’ sequel was in the works, fans were hoping familiar faces would be involved, but even more were hoping Kenny Loggins’ ‘Danger Zone’ would be making an appearance as well. Now, Loggins has confirmed his song is back, as he claims Tom Cruise wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I finally met Tom Cruise on Fallon about, slightly before 2020 started. I stopped him before we went on and I said, ‘So, yes or no. Is ‘Danger Zone’ in the new movie?’ He said, ‘We can’t do Top Gun without ‘Danger Zone,’” said Loggins. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Loggins previously discussed possibly recording a new version for the film. With ‘Danger Zone’ officially back, ‘Top Gun’ is truly ready to fly.
