When it comes to fast food burgers, it’s hard to beat Whataburger in Texas; though many have tried. In recent years iconic west coast burger chain In-N-Out made its way to the Lone Star state, and now another iconic Los Angeles burger chain is giving it a try. Fat Burger recently announced plans to open a third Texas location, with the newest opening up in Fort Worth.

California-based Fatburger is planning to open in the Keller Market Place shopping center at 1521 Keller Parkway. A permit for construction has been filed by the burger chain, though no opening date has been announced at this time. The newest Fatburger will join two others in DFW, located at 1807 N. Collins St., north Arlington, and 6039 Precinct Line Road, North Richland Hills.

We are ready to expand Fatburger to the state where everything is bigger,” said owner Curtis Croft. According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, the chain plans to open 25 Fatburgers across Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. While it won’t over take Whataburger in the lone Star state, at least there is another option for when their line is too long.
