DFW has seen an insane amount of growth over the last few years. In a short amount of time, cities in the metroplex that were once after thoughts are now booming, and the trend doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon. In fact, one North Texas city was recently named one of the fastest growing cities in America, making the top 10 list along with three other Texas cities.
The US Census Bureau recently released data that shows just how fast DFW has grown over the last year. Based on their data, Little Elm was named the fifth fastest growing city in America. According to Dallas Culture Map, Little Elm had an eight percent population increase from July 2021 to July 2022.
While Little Elm was the only North Texas city to make the top 10, Texas was well represented with Georgetown landing the number one spot, Kyle at number three and Leander at number four. “As one of the fastest-growing cities in North Texas, we work to balance our growth with hometown charm to give both residents and visitors alike an exceptional experience,” says the Little Elm website. At this rate, Little Elm may have to change their name to Big Elm soon.
