Historic DFW music venue once owned by Jack Ruby to reopen this spring

One of DFW’s most historic music venues will soon reopen after being closed since 2019. Longhorn Ballroom is currently being renovated by Kessler Presents, the team that restored the Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff. The music venue once owned by Jack Ruby is expected to open this Spring.

Known for historical performances by The Sex Pistols, Merle Haggard, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Ramones, James Brown, Patti Smith, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Al Green, George Strait, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Selena, and more, the Longhorn Ballroom is ready to create some new memories, while honoring the past. According to Dallas Culture Map, the renovated venue will feature museum-style display cases with clothing, guitars, and mementos from a number of iconic artists.

They are expected to announce their first shows soon. “Our patrons crave authenticity and the magic of discovery in unique settings. It’s been the model for our successes at the Kessler and now we will apply those same values at the Longhorn,” said Edwin Cabaniss of Kessler presents. Soon, DFW will have another music venue to fall in love with.
