One of DFW's most historic buildings will soon be getting an upgrade. It was recently announced that the Magnolia Building will begin a $65 million redevelopment next year. The project will include creating 270 hotel rooms plus a three-story addition to the building.
Known to many as the building with the Pegasus statue on top, the Magnolia building was previously considered the tallest "skyscraper" west of the Mississippi when it first opened in 1922. Now, 100 years later the building is finally getting some much needed upgrades. According to Dallas Morning News, the changes include reducing the number of hotel rooms, while upgrading the space.
Designs for the new project are being handled by the Dallas office of architect Gensler. The changes are expected to be complete by 2024.
Soon enough, the Magnolia Building will be looking good as new.
