When shopping at a grocery store, plenty of people often wonder just how fresh the food they are buying actually is. While many brands promise the freshest ingredients, far too often that is just a way to sell more product. However, one man recently found out just how fresh the lettuce he purchased was, when he found a live snake in the packaged bag.
A mom from Australia recently shared a photo of a snake in a bag of lettuce sent to her by her son. “Check packaged lettuces carefully. Last night my adult son Alexander White, and his partner Amelie found a baby pale headed snake in with his baby cos lettuce from Aldi,” Lesley Kuhn wrote in her now viral post. Not only did her son find the snake living in the bag of lettuce, but he later found out it was poisonous as well, according to Fox News.
Many online were stunned by the find, with some comparing it to the recent story of someone finding shrimp tails in their cereal. “We've worked with the customer and the team at Wires to identify the snake's natural habitat, which is certainly not an Aldi store!” the chain said in a statement. Hopefully no more snakes are found in their lettuce.
