Usually when a parent writes an absence note for their kid, they are taking them out of school for something like an illness or family emergency.
However, one Texas parent had a different reason her daughter would soon be missing school, they were going to a Taylor Swift concert. Now, the mother has gone viral thanks to her Taylor Swift themed absence note, full of song lyrics any fellow Swifty would understand.
Taylor Swift will be performing in Houston on April 24, and Austin mother Karen Vladeck is planning on taking her first grade daughter for her first concert. With the show taking place on a Monday, Vladeck’s daughter will have to miss school, so she decided to email her daughter’s teacher an absence note with a Taylor Swift twist. According to Chron, the note included several Taylor Swift lyrics and included a subject line that read, “It's Me, Hi, I'm the Problem, It's Me.”
While Vladeck was a little worried her daughter’s teacher may not be a fellow Swifty, she luckily got a response that said “this made my entire day.” Now, Vladeck and her daughter will get to enjoy the Taylor Swift concert in peace. Maybe she’ll even bring back a souvenir for her teacher to say thank you.
