Netflix continues video game push with purchase of North Texas company

Over the last few years, there have been rumors about Netflix entering into the world of video games. Like they did with streaming, many believe the company could bring a change to the entire industry. Now, the streaming giant is finally making their move, recently purchasing DFW video game company, Boss Fight Entertainment.

Netflix finally seems ready to enter the world of video games, purchasing thee different development studios over the last six months, including the Allen-based Boss Fight Entertainment. Boss Fight Entertainment is most known for their mobile game, ‘Dungeon Boss,’ which generates around $60,000 per month in revenue, according to Dallas Morning News. “We couldn’t be more excited to join Netflix at this early stage as we continue doing what we love to do while helping to shape the future of games on Netflix together,” said Boss Fight’s founders in a statement.

Not much is currently known about the deal, though it is expected that Boss Fight staff members will remain in their current studios. Along with their Allen headquarters, Boss Fight Entertainment has offices in Austin and Seattle as well. Soon Netflix will be giving people even more reason to never leave their couch.
