Pizza and beer is a classic combination beloved by many, and luckily for those people there is a new restaurant coming to DFW that specializes in both. While plenty of pizza shops have offered up "build your own pizza" options, rarely do they allow customers to pour their own beer. However, Smokin' Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom will do just that with their self-serve taproom coming to Frisco this fall.
Founded in Minnesota, Smokin' Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom is ready to expand with a new 5,000-square-foot space at the Stonebriar Mall. The fast-casual chain specializes in pizza, with dough made in house, which is cooked in a 900 degrees oven that produces pizzas in about two minutes. While pizza gets top billing, the chain is also known for their "pour-your-own taproom" where customers can choose from a wide variety of beer, wine and ciders.
According to Dallas Culture Map, customers wear a radio-frequency identification bracelet that activates the tap, and can pour sizes anywhere from one to 16 ounces. The new restaurant is expected to open this fall. With this new restaurant, many in DFW may soon have a new favorite pizza shop.
