If there’s one thing Texans love; it’s seeing their state at the top of a list ranking the best places in America. While the Lone Star state often ranks at the top on most lists, apparently being the best comes with some added stress, as a new study recently claimed Texans to be some of the most stressed people in the country. According to the study, Texas ranked 10th on their list of most stressed out people.
The new study, done by personal finance website WalletHub, looked at a number of variables causing stress in each state, such as; work-related stress, family-related stress, health and financial. According to Austin Culture Map, Texas ranked near the top due to their sixth-place ranking for work-related stress, seventh-place ranking for family-related stress and eleventh-place for health- and safety-related stress.
As for the rest of the country, the study found Nevada to be the most stressed out state, with South Dakota sitting at the end of the list. As for Texas, it seems their number four ranking for the most average hours worked is heavily contributing to their stress. Sometimes you have to deal with a little stress if you want to be the best.
