There are many factors people take into consideration when deciding where they want to live. For some careers, schools and cost of living play a major role, but for those that are worried about the safety of the city they are moving to, a new list says they should probably start looking to cities outside of America. A new study has come up with the list of the world’s safest cities, and while no cities in the United States made the top 10, for sale signs aren’t going up in yards quite yet.
According to the study, conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Copenhagen is the world’s safest city in 2021. Following the capital of Denmark on the list were Toronto, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. This is not the first time the EIU released a list of the world’s safest cities, as previous lists had Tokyo, Singapore and Osaka, Japan as their top three.
Coming in right after the top 10 was the first American city on the list, with New York City taking the number 11 spot, according to Insider. The EIU determined these rankings using 76 indicators across digital, health, infrastructure, environmental, and personal-security sectors. Hopefully their next list has a Texas city somewhere near the top.
