DFW definitely enjoys a winner, especially when they are from our own backyard. That’s why the entire metroplex should be supporting Plano’s own Jaskaran Singh as he competes to be named ‘Jeopardy!’ National College Champion tonight. Singh is set to appear in the finals of Jeopardy! National College Champion where if he wins, he will be going home with a $250,000 grand prize and plenty of bragging rights.

Jaskaran Singh graduated from Plano West Senior High School in 2018 and is currently studying finance and economics at the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. However, he put that on pause for the night as he looks to become the next ‘Jeopardy!’ National College Champion.
“I watched Jeopardy! when I was a little kid and my mom had me apply when I was 13, but I didn’t make it past the audition stage. She encouraged me to try again last year, saying, ‘What’s the worst that could happen?’ So much of this stuff is up to chance, but obviously it worked out,” said Singh.

According to Dallas Morning News, Singh’s experience participating in the Quiz Bowl both at Plano West and UT Austin helped him succeed on ‘Jeopardy!’ The show will air tonight on ABC and Hulu. Hopefully soon he will be back in DFW showing off his trophy.
