Teaching is one of the most respected careers someone can pursue, yet many educators are still underpaid. Luckily that will soon be changing for some DFW teachers. Three North Texas school districts recently announced pay increases for all teachers and staff for the new school year.
It was a busy week for a number of school districts in the metroplex, as not only are many wrapping up the school year, but some are already gearing up for next semester. With many school districts meeting to discuss budgets, some decided it was time to give their teachers a pay bump. According to WFAA, Highland Park ISD unanimously approved a 5% pay raise, at a minimum, for district teachers and staff for the 2022-23 school year on Wednesday.

Along with Highland Park ISD, Plano ISD also announced a pay increase for their staff. As did Duncanville ISD, who will give all district employees a salary increase between 4% and 6.6% for the upcoming school year. With these moves, many teachers will finally be getting what they deserve.
