Having a pet is great, but for some a dog or a cat sometimes just isn’t enough. In most cases, those people go the lizard, bird, hamster or fish route, but one person in DFW recently decided to go a bit more exotic with their pet choice. Dallas police found a tiger cub caged inside a Dallas-area home on Wednesday while serving a warrant, which led to rumors of a tiger roaming around Oak Cliff.
Dallas police found something they definitely weren’t expected this week when they were assisting the U.S. Marshals with a federal warrant. Police spotted a tiger cub caged inside the home, which is illegal in Dallas. “Dallas Animal Services responded to the address and secured the tiger, which is currently being held in protective custody at an undisclosed location," the department said in a statement.

Of course, once it became known that a tiger cub was found inside an Oak Cliff home, rumors began to spread that the tiger was actually walking around outside, and had escaped from the Dallas Zoo. According to WFAA, the zoo later confirmed the tiger was not one of theirs. Maybe next time, the tiger’s owner will think about getting a normal cat as a pet instead.
