This November, a popular chain restaurant from Japan will be making its U.S. debut in North Texas.
Kouchan, known for their Hakata Ramen, will be setting up shop in Plano at 4709 W. Parker Road in the same shopping strip as Tokyo Shokudo and Campisi’s, according to the Dallas Observer.
Kouchan only serves tonkatsu, where pork bones are boiled over high heat, which dissolves their gelatin into the broth and gives it the cloudy appearance.
Besides ramen, Kouchan will also offer full menu unique to Plano, that includes (so far) mazeman (a brothless ramen bowl) gyoza, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), fried rice, and French fries.
The Plano spot will be Kouchan’s U.S. flagship location and third international location, following two other locations in Seoul and Bangkok.
