For most people, getting the chance to drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini would be a dream come true, but for some all they’ve ever thought about is the chance to drive the Batmobile. Sadly, the fictional vehicle is only ever taken on the roads of Gotham, but now that may soon change. It was recently announced that a fully functional replica of the Tim Burton-era Batmobile would soon be available at an upcoming auction.

In January, Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale will be auctioning off a one-of-a-kind replica Batmobile. According to Fox News, the vehicle is built on a racing-style tubular frame wrapped in a fiberglass and aluminum body that covers the jet engine that uses an actual turbine from a 1960s military Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter. "The engine worked perfectly for this application, although it required much custom machining and fabrication to make it work in a Batmobile including restoration," said the car’s builder, Casey Putsch.

The auction house will sell the vehicle without a reserve price, though it was previously listed on EBay for $680,000. Many Batman fans are now hoping they are the one that ends up with the special vehicle. Hopefully they are ready for a world of crime stopping once the Batmobile is purchased.
