There are many factors people think about when deciding where to live, but almost always safety comes into play. Luckily, DFW is constantly mentioned any time a study on the safest cities in America is released. Now, a new report looking at safety in some of the biggest American cities has been shared, and once again the metroplex is coming out on top, as the study named Dallas as the big city people consider to be the safest.

A new Gallup Poll that asked people to name the US cities they consider a place safe to live or visit was recently released and topping the list was Dallas. According to Axios, 74% of respondents believe Dallas is a safe city. That number is up from the last time the poll was taken, as in 2006 only 69% of respondents said they believe Dallas was safe.

The only other Texas city to make the top 10 was Houston, which placed 7th after 57% of respondents believed the city to be safe. As for Dallas, perception matches reality as the city has seen a decrease in violent crime in recent years. Thanks to this report, now the metroplex has yet another thing it can claim to be the best at.
