Every state has something they are known for that their locals can claim as the best in the country. For some it’s food, for others it’s brands, but there is one thing all 50 states have in common, and that’s a drink of choice. Now, a new report has selected an alcoholic beverage for each state, and while some were obvious, others were quite surprising.

Vinepair recently unveiled a map of America showing each states drink of choice. While there wasn’t much science behind their decision making, the report used local ingredients, historic brands, and beloved sports teams to determine each state’s drink. According to Vinepair, the choice for Texas was Ranch Water.

“In recent years, the simple cocktail has taken off in bars across the state, and has even become a staple in the lines of many RTD cocktail brands,” said the report. While many in the state were surprised the drink wasn’t a Shiner beer or something made with Tito’s Vodka, plenty agreed Ranch Water has become a Texas mainstay. At least Texas did better than some other states on the list, and because of that the Lone Star state can claim another victory.
