There aren’t many downsides to living in North Texas, but if asked to find one, some in DFW would pick no ocean nearby as a negative. Luckily, a new restaurant coming to the metroplex is bringing a bit of the ocean to town with it. The restaurant will feature a wave pool for surfing and is expected to open this summer.
In August, Grandscape in The Colony is expected to open their latest attraction, Fireside Surf. The restaurant and bar will include a pool with “customizable and endless deep-water waves up to 6 feet" for beginners and experts. Fireside Surf will also offer lessons for those wanting to learn how to surf.
According to WFAA, the restaurant will cost $4 million to build and is expected to open in August. Along with the surfing, they will also feature a full menu of food and drinks, including cocktails. Soon, not being near an ocean won’t be an issue in DFW.
