The relationship between Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen was quite tumultuous over the years. However, ever since the iconic guitarist passed away, the former Van Halen frontman has been honoring his late friend any chance he gets. While the world sadly will never get to see Hagar and Van Halen perform together again, the singer now says he has the next best thing, claiming Eddie Van Halen visited him in a dream to help write a new song.

It has been almost two years since Eddie Van Halen passed away, but his impact on fans, fellow musicians and his former bandmates continues to be felt. With a new album set to be released next month, Sammy Hagar wanted fans to know there was plenty of Eddie influence on at least one track. “About two months ago, I had this dream and Eddie came…It was not like he was passed, but he had just been out of my life and we hadn’t seen each other for a while. He’s going, 'Man, let’s write some music!' I said, 'Yeah, fuck it, man. Here, let’s go!'" said Hagar.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Van Halen showed Hagar a guitar lick to use on the song in his dream. The song is called ‘Thank You’ and will be included on The Circle’s upcoming album, ‘Crazy Times.’ Hopefully Eddie Van Halen is included in the credits.
