It seems just about every day there is a new study or ranking that shows the greatness of DFW. Regardless of the category, at least one city in the metroplex is usually named when talking about the country’s best. However, a new study has apparently found the one thing North Texas can’t claim to be great at. The study recently named Dallas as one of the worst “music cities” in the country.

Real estate data company, Clever, recently attempted to find the best cities for live music in the country, and while cities like Nashville, Indianapolis and Portland took the top spots, the bottom of the list was full of Texas cities. According to Central Track, Dallas was ranked as the fifth worst music city in the country. Luckily for those with Dallas pride, Houston and San Antonio were ranked lower on the list.

The study was based on a number of factors, including; Number of working musicians per 1,000 residents, average price of concert tickets, music festivals within a 100-mile radius and more. While plenty in DFW disagreed with the study, many were willing to concede live music isn’t something Dallas does very well. Maybe one day this will be another list Dallas ranks near the top of.
