Some topics can be endlessly debated without ever finding an answer. However, for all the arguments people have over topics like politics, sports or even something like the existence of aliens, none are as contentious as the debates people have about dogs vs cats. Now, a new study has attempted once again to put an end to this debate, as it used data to find which animal DFW prefers.

North Texas is one of the most pet friendly areas in the country. The city of Dallas ranks in the top 10 for both dog ownership and cat ownership, but many have often wondered which animal is more popular in the metroplex. Luckily, a new study using data from the U.S. Census American Housing Survey has shown that DFW slightly prefers dogs.

According to CW33, there are 1.2 million people who live in Dallas with at least one dog. As for cats, there are more than 480,000 households with cats in Dallas. While this study clearly shows North Texans prefer dogs, the debate will likely continue for years to come.
