With alligator season coming to an end, many are starting to feel safe going near the water again. Sadly, not all alligators are ready to go away just yet, and one swimmer recently found that out the hard way. A man in Brazil was attempting to swim back to land, when an alligator came out of nowhere, chasing him down and biting his arm.

As seen in the video that recently went viral, a man is quickly swimming to shore when an even faster alligator enters the picture. The gator and swimmer converge as the reptile chomps down on the man’s arm before stopping and letting him get to land. Many were stunned by the alligator’s speed, including the swimmer who luckily made it to land unharmed.

According to Outsider, the incident occurred in Camp Grande, Brazil. It is unknown what happened after the video ends, but it is likely the man did not return to the water. Alligator season may be over, but they decided to save the most terrifying video for last.
