Earlier this year, it was announced that a Texas company had purchased the rights to the DeLorean brand name and a stock of original factory parts to recreate the classic car as an electric vehicle. Since then, the restoration and service outfit in Humble, Texas has kept most details about the car under wraps, only teasing a few images. Now, the complete version of the new car has finally been revealed, with images of the entire car and some intriguing specs as well.

The new DeLorean is ready to hit the roads of the future, with some call backs to the classic car as well. Dubbed the Alpha5, the new car is a four-seat ‘coupe' that features the DeLorean DMC-12's iconic gullwing doors. The styling of the car’s wheels and lighting, along with the rear window louvers are reminiscent of the classic DeLorean. However, the new electric vehicle features some new aspects as well.

According to Fox News, the car is roughly the same size as the Tesla Model S and has a driving range of over 300 miles per charge. The car can also accelerate to 88 mph in just 4.35 seconds, a reference to ‘Back to The Future’ which gave the original car its icon status. Expected to hit the market in 2024, hopefully they figure out time travel as well by then.
