Driving across the border is no big deal for those that are obeying the law. Of course, those that are committing a crime tend to be a little nervous at border check points, which is why some try to find a cover up to make it seem like they are on a normal trip. For one Texas man, his attempt at acting normal failed miserably, as police claim they found over a pound of meth after spotting him suspiciously eating a cheeseburger.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas announced this week that a Texas man had been arrested after he was caught with 1.6 pounds of meth at the border. The incident actually occurred back in July 2020, but the report was just revealed after the man was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. According to Fox News, police noticed the man sitting in the backseat after he took a bite of his McDonalds Big Mac right as police began to check the vehicle.

Police were suspicious “given that the nearest McDonald's is over 60 miles south," said the original criminal complaint. Police searched the car and found the drugs strapped to the man’s legs. When he finally gets out of jail, he likely will never eat a Big Mac again.
