It seems over the years almost every good excuse for getting out of work has been used. While many people continue to try to fake sick or claim a family emergency to skip work for the day, some try to be more original with their excuses. For one Texas man, most probably thought he was joking when he claimed a peacock prevented him from getting to work on time, but photos of the incident proved the majestic bird did indeed cause him to be late for work recently.
Jim Daley of San Antonio was going into work at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio over the weekend when he noticed something blocking the entry way to the building. “Only in San Antonio can your Saturday afternoon lab plans be disrupted by a peacock guarding the door, said Daley. According to Daley, a small group of workers were standing outside as well, afraid to go past the peacock.
“Nobody wanted to approach the peacock because they’re known to be sort of aggressive,” said Daley. According to My San Antonio, security was called to remove the peacock, but Daley eventually got in the building by using another door. Sadly, after this incident the peacock excuse probably can’t be used anymore.
