Any time a child participates in a sporting event; there is fear that their parent could make it all about themselves by getting into a fight during the game. Sometimes it’s with another parent, other times it’s with the other team, but usually it’s against the official, who is expected to do their job on the same level as those in the pro leagues. That’s exactly what happened at a baseball tournament in The Colony recently, though this time it was the team’s coach, not a parent, who attacked the umpire getting his team banned from the tournament.
Police in The Colony have opened an assault investigation after the coach of a team of 10-year-old select baseball players attacked the umpire after being tossed from the game. According to Fox 4 News, the coach began arguing with the umpire over a close call when he was thrown out of the game. However, instead of leaving the coach attacked the umpire, shoving him to the ground.

The moment was captured by a live stream of the game, and the video has since gone viral. Luckily the umpire was okay, as he was treated at a hospital and released, though he says he is now suffering from neck pain. Maybe one day adults will realize it’s just a game.
