When Richard Branson traveled to space over the weekend, many were stunned the billionaire would take the risk of becoming one of the first civilians to travel to space without astronaut training or experience. However, for fans of ‘The Simpsons’ the move wasn’t shocking at all, as the show already predicted it would happen seven years ago. Fans of the beloved cartoon series recently found an episode from 2014 that references Richard Branson traveling to space.

Over the last few years, ‘The Simpsons’ has become known for predicting the future. Now, it has happened once again, as the show predicted Richard Branson would travel to space back in 2014. In the episode ‘The War of Art,’ art forger Klaus Ziegler discusses his work with Lisa Simpson. To prove the point, a number of people are shown admiring his art, including Richard Branson looking at a painting in space.

According to Deadline, some other things the show predicted include; the 2003 Siegfried and Roy tiger attack and Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. While some fans were skeptical, since Branson has been talking about going to space for years, many others were still impressed. Maybe it’s time the world starts studying ‘The Simpsons’ to see what may happen in the future.
