John Lennon has had his music covered by countless artists, whether it is from his work with the Beatles of his solo career. However, the latest came as huge surprise to many. During a recent episode of his new HBO series, ‘The Idol,’ The Weeknd debut his new cover of Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy.’
On Sunday, fans finally got to hear The Weeknd’s cover of ‘Jealous Guy’ that had been teased for months. Fans first back a preview of the song back in April, but finally got to hear the entire thing during episode four of ‘The Idol.’ According to NME, The Weeknd performed the song live for the first time at a recent show in Norway.
The new cover song is not the first song The Weeknd has released on the show. All the songs from the series will appear on the soundtrack album, ‘The Idol, Vol. 1’, which will be released June 30. Maybe another surprise cover song will be included before the show’s run is over.
