Over the past few years, there have been countless reports showing the large number of people moving to Texas for a variety of reasons. Whether it’s work, cost of living, or just wanting to live in the Lone Star state, the Texas population continues to rise as more and more people move to town. Now, yet another report has been released, this time by U-Haul, claiming Texas was the state with the most one way moves in 2022.

For the second year in a row, U-Haul has listed Texas as the state with the most one way moves. According to CW33, the cities that saw the most growth were Richardson, Missouri City and Conroe. This is the fifth time since 2016 Texas took home the top spot in their rankings.

“The 2022 trends in migration followed very similar patterns to 2021 with Texas, Florida, the Carolinas and the Southwest continuing to see solid growth,” said John Taylor, U-Haul International president. Following Texas on the list was Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia, with California at the very bottom. While Texas is happy to bring in more people, the state may have to do something about all these leftover U-Haul trucks.
