When ordering breakfast food, beer isn’t usually the beverage of choice for most people. However, that may soon change, as Waffle House has teamed up with a brewery to create a new bacon-infused beer. Waffle House’s ‘Bacon & Kegs’ beer is a 6.5% ABV red ale that has a bacon aroma that pairs perfectly with any breakfast food.

Oconee Brewing Company in Georgia recently reached out to the Atlanta based Waffle house to discuss a collaboration on an upcoming beer. The ‘Bacon & Kegs’ beer has a malty character enhanced with "salty, savory, and smokey bacon extract,” according to the brewery. The new beer will be sold in six packs, or on draft at the brewery starting in December.

The beer may eventually be sold nationwide, but most likely not at Waffle House, as currently only one location in the United States sells beer. Many are hoping that changes though, as their new breakfast beer could be the perfect pairing for a number of items on the menu. If it does, the official acceptable time to start drinking may be moved up a few hours.
