Texans have been dealing with some extreme heat over the last few months. The high temperatures have forced many to take drastic measures to stay cool. Of course, it’s not only DFW humans that the heat is affecting. It’s also the animals, as shown by this viral video of a squirrel finding a clever way to stay cool this summer.
On Tuesday, the popular social media account “Dallas Texas TV” shared a video of a squirrel in Dallas lying on a street vent to cool off. As seen in the now viral clip, the squirrel lays on its stomach as air from the vent blows its tail up into the air. According to D Magazine, the video has received over 37,000 views since being shared.
Many Texans in the comments could relate to the squirrel, claiming they too find themselves standing directly in front of air vents whenever possible. “This heat ain’t no joke,” the video is captioned along with an image claiming it was 107 degrees outside at the time. Hopefully the squirrel remembers where this vent is next time it needs a cool down.
